I am delighted to have the opportunity to thank you for you support of the Steele Creek Library Association, a 501 (c)(3) organization. Your gift will enable us to enhance the services available to our citizens in the new Steele Creek Branch of the Mecklenburg County Library.

Depending of the amount of funds raised, we hope to increase the number of books available in the children's area, improve the computer and audio-visual equipment, install a wireless internet service, install an electronic "check-out" system and look at several other items that will help make our library branch the best in the entire county.

We could not do any of this without the support of special friends like you. We hope that you will increase the value of your gift by telling others about your gift and the things that it can do for Steele Creek. We believe that a strong library is essential for a thriving community and that our investment in the library facility reflects its importance to Steele Creek.

"Talk About Timely Service"

My father was in town for a few days and wanted to look at some houses. I did some research on-line the night before and came across a few homes shown by G4 Realty. Not expecting much, I gave the company a call at 8:01 a.m. the next morning and Chris picked up almost immediately. OK, I was a little impressed by that because I honestly thought I would have to leave a message and start the old "phone tag" game. I told Mr Graham of my quest and the timing issue. In approximately 10 minutes, I received an e-mail of some homes that met my dad's requirements. Now, I am really impressed but that is not all. I looked the homes over, called him back and told him I had 7 homes I wanted my dad to see that day around 1 p.m. Mr Graham, set up all the appointments and met us promptly at 1 p.m. sharp. By 3 p.m., Chris had shown us every house and my dad was ready to make an offer. The very next day at 12 noon, my dad called me to say his offer on the house was accepted! I am talking about a little over a 24 hour turnaround! I have never heard or experienced anything like it.

Chris Graham is The Man! Thank you for making this as easy as pie for my dad.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - CRRA reports on the residential real estate market in this region. The number of closings for September 2008 was 2,239, which is a 27 percent decrease from September 2007.  The average sales price for September 2008 was $214,927, which is 9 percent decrease from September 2007.  The average listing price for solds in September was $232,717, a decrease of 5 percent over September 2007’s average list price of $245,782.

Residential contracts reported in September (2,107) decreased by 33 percent over last year when contracts totaled 3,142. New residential listings for September totaled 4,909.  The average days-on-market for September 2008 was 137.7 days, which is an increase (1.6 days) over the previous month.
